StudioHaus vs Houzz Pro.

Last updated · June 2026

Two different answers to the same problem: one platform built for the whole construction-and-design industry, one built for the boutique design studio.

StudioHaus and Houzz Pro both promise to run the business side of a design practice — proposals, invoices, client communication, the books. The honest difference is scope. Houzz Pro is an established all-in-one platform for construction and design, serving contractors, remodelers, architects, and interior designers alike. StudioHaus is a newer, narrower tool: a practice-management platform purpose-built for boutique interior design studios — from solo designers to multi-designer firms — currently in Early Access.

What Houzz Pro is

Houzz Pro describes itself as an all-in-one platform for construction and design. Its feature set reflects that breadth: 3D floor plans, takeoffs, bid management, change orders, daily logs, and subcontractor dashboards sit alongside designer-facing tools like a product clipper and library, mood boards, selections, proposals, invoicing with online payments, purchase orders, contracts with digital signatures, a branded client dashboard, and QuickBooks Online integration. It also bundles marketing — custom websites, email marketing, premium profiles, targeted advertising, and lead generation tied to the Houzz directory.

On pricing, Houzz Pro offers a free single-user starter plan (3D floor planner, estimates, invoicing) and a 30-day free trial of its paid plans. Paid plans start at $249 per month, and full pricing varies by plan and by profession — see Houzz Pro’s pricing page for the current numbers for your configuration.

What StudioHaus is

StudioHaus is a practice-management platform (CRM) purpose-built for boutique interior design studios — from solo designers to multi-designer firms — and built inside a working studio. The core of it: a branded client portal where files live, conversations happen, clients approve designs, and invoices get paid by card through Stripe; contracts drafted, sent, and e-signed in-platform with a signed PDF at the end; invoicing that bills deposits and balances straight from specified items and syncs to QuickBooks Online; purchase orders tracked from ordered to received against a firm-wide vendor book; project financials with margin and expense tracking; and a route planner that logs site-visit drives at the IRS rate and bills the miles onto the right client invoice. Read more about how studios bill deposits and balances and what belongs in a client portal.

Pricing is published and flat: Basic at $49 per month for one user, Pro at $99 per month for three users (additional users $9 per month each, QuickBooks integration included on Pro). Billed monthly, no annual contracts. StudioHaus is in Early Access — intakes open every few weeks, five studios at a time — and we’d rather say that plainly than pretend to be the incumbent.

How to choose

If your practice runs construction — you need takeoffs, bids, change orders, subcontractor coordination — or you want lead generation from the Houzz directory, Houzz Pro is built for that and StudioHaus simply isn’t. If you run a boutique design studio and the daily work is specifying, presenting, billing, and keeping the books honest, StudioHaus trades Houzz Pro’s breadth for focus: fewer modules, each shaped around how a boutique studio actually runs.
